Dos 4 músicos dos Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, somente David Crosby gravou álbum de originais ("Here If You Listen" foi o Regresso ao Passado de ontem), não significa que os outros 3 estivessem parados.
Stephen Stills continuou activo com inúmero concertos, alguns com com Judy Collins com a qual tinha gravado o álbum "Everybody Knows" em 2017, mas também com Neil Young e em nome próprio.
Graham Nash deixou uma excelente colectânea, "Over The Years" e esteve em turné parte do ano.
Finalmente Neil Young. 2018 não viu um novo trabalho deste ímpar músico canadiano, quebrando a regularidade de um álbum por ano a que nos vinha habituando. Dedicou-se aos seus famosos arquivos (Neil Young Archives-NYA, Personal Series-PS) donde foi tirar mais dois álbuns ao vivo, o primeiro a aparecer foi o Volume 05 designado "Roxy - Tonight's the Night Live", o segundo foi o Volume 07 editado já em Dezembro, "Songs for Judy" é o nome.
"Roxy - Tonight's the Night Live" foi gravado ao vivo na abertura do Roxy Theatre em Setembro de 1973 e contém sobretudo faixas do álbum "Tonight's the Night" acabado de gravar, mas cuja edição só viu a luz do dia em 1975 (composto com extremo pesar pelas mortes recentes de Danny Whitten, guitarrista dos Crazy Horse e do "roadie" Bruce Berry, a editora decidiu atrasar a sua publicação).

"We had very recently lost Danny Whitten and our rodie Bruce Berry to heroin overdose so we were missing them and feeling them in the music every night as we played. Tonight's the Night was sort of a wake. There was no overdubbing on those nine original songs. They were recorded live, with no clean up.", lê-se nas notas do álbum. E ainda:
"We had finished recording and decided to celebrate with a gig at a new club opening on the Sunset Strip, the ROXY. We went there and recorded for a few nights, opening the ROXY. We really knew the Tonight's the Night songs after playing them for a month, so we just played them again, the album, top to bottom, two sets a night for a few days. We had great time."
"Songs for Judy" é compilado da turné a solo e acústica de Neil Young pela América do Norte no ano de 1976. Contém 22 canções precedidas pela introdução "Songs for Judy" onde Neil Young ficciona a visão de Judy Garland:"What I'm gonna tell you is I saw Judy Garland down there tonight earlier. She was wearing a red dress, with red lipstick, and she had some, yeah uh, little bit of music with her right here uh, one of those music folios, it said "Somewhere over the rainbow", had a picture of her as a little girl looking up at me with the blue sky behind her, and there she was, Judy Garland in a red dress with a piece of music and she looked up and she said "How's the business Neil?". You don't have to believe me.", segue-se "Too For Gone", canção que só teria edição oficial no álbum "Freedom" em 1989.

De resto é mais uma pequena maravilha que Neil Young recupera para nosso gáudio. Canções que na época estavam entre o melhor que ele tinha composto, de "Old Laughing Lady" a "Pocahontas", sem esquecer as eternas "Tell My Why", Harvest" e Heart Of Gold".
