"In Search Of The Lost Chord" é o álbum de 1968 do grupo inglês The Moody Blues.
É um álbum conceptual em torno da busca e da descoberta, e está entre o melhor que The Moody Blues produziram.
Contrariamente ao álbum anterior "Days Of Futured Passed" gravado com a London Festival Orchestra, em "In Search Of The Lost Chord" The Moody Blues tocam a totalidade dos instrumentos utilizados. Mais de 30 instrumentos são usados, entre os quais instrumentos indianos como a cítara, a tambura e a tabla que ajudam a concretizar uma sonoridade próxima de música meditativa. Ouça-se "Departure", a partida para a busca, "Visions of Paradise", a percepção do paraíso, e a faixa final "Om" repleta de ligações à cultura indiana. "Om" pronunciada Aum é um mantra (como por exemplo o Hare Krishna) da cultura hindu.
Na capa interior podia-se ler:
"To anyone who has practised meditation or Yoga:
the word MANTRA is familiar as a word of power concentrated upon in meditation. The most important word of power in Hindu scriptures is the word OM, which pronounced AUM means 'God', 'All', 'Being', 'The answer'. Thought or intenteness on it's meaning will cause the exclusion of all others thoughts, ultimately bringing about the state of mind to which the meditator aspires."
O álbum termina precisamente com "Om" precedida de "The Word" onde é explicado que "Om" é o acorde perdido referido no título do álbum.

So they give a word, and the word is OM.
